A restaurant view Hotel Lorena restaurant built its name over more than forty years of operation, during which it has kept on bringing to the table the dishes of true traditional Amiata cuisine, without any concession to passing crazes. Our food is prepared for a limited number of guests who can enjoy it in old original recipes , presented without frills and drawings, but well-tended in the choice of ingredients and cooking way, a cooking way that can sometimes take hours, but has remained the same to preserve a traditional, unique taste. Here are our typical soups, such as acquacotta, onion soup, and especially the queen, the mushroom soup, made with porcini and other mushrooms of the region with a balance of culinary alchemy. Here is the homemade pasta, tortelli, pappardelle, lasagne, with robust and ... well, not exactly dietetic sauces. And other seasoned dishes, to taste, linked to the territory, as almost all the ingredients: polenta with mushrooms, scottadito lamb, the drunk pork, wild boar stew, a dessert of ricotta cheese with chestnut jam. The portions are plentiful – everybody can tell, people from the mountains have robust appetite. The proximity to Montalcino and Scansano invites to put on the table a good point house wine as well as the bottled ones, like Chianti, Morellino, Brunello and Montecucco for red and Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Bianco di Pitigliano among white wines. The only concession to luxury: we serve on Richard Ginori porcelain. Our restaurant can host 130 people. In summer possibility to eat in the garden. A restaurant viewThe hotel has 20 simple and cosy rooms; from the windows of many of them you can catch a glimpse on the wood of chestnut trees that surrounds the facility.
